Bachelor of Arts in English (B.A) programme can be attained within three years of study. Admission

A candidate who has passed higher secondary examination in any one of the biological sciences (Botany, Zoology, Biology). (Academic/Vocational stream – Agri, Home Science, Poultry) under higher secondary board of examination, Tamil Nadu or as per norms set by the Government of Tamil Nadu or an examination accepted as Equivalent thereto by the Syndicate subject to such conditions as may be prescribed thereto are permitted to appear and qualify for the BSc.

Program Overview

PEO 1 Acquired the knowledge with facts and figures related to various subjects in puresciences such as Microbiology, Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, Mathematics,etc.
PEO 2 Understood the basic concepts, fundamental principles, and the scientific theories related to various scientific phenomena and their relevancies in the day-to-day life.
PEO 3 Acquired the skills in handling scientific instruments, planning and performing in laboratory experiments. The skills of observations and drawing logical inferences from the scientific experiments. Analyzed the given scientific data critically and systematically and the ability to draw the objective conclusions.
PEO 4 Been able to think creatively (divergently and convergent) to propose novel ideas in explaining facts and figures or providing new solution to the problems.

 

 

 

 

PS 1 Understand the contributions of various scientist in microbiology and scope of various branches
PS 2 Understand various kinds of prokaryotic & eukaryotic microbes and their interactions
PS 3 Explain and describe importance of organic compounds and its chemistry found in living cells
PS 4 Understand and explain various processes of metabolism of carbohydrates amino acids and vitamins
PS 5 Explain DNA, RNA and protein structure and their synthesis
PS 6 Understand the concept of disease development, spread, control and eradication from society
PS 7 Understand the basic concepts of gene and their regulation of action
PS 8 Explain and write various industrial fermentations and bioinstrumentation

 

PO 1 Understand the structures and functions of biomolecules.
PO 2 To know the functions of DNA replication, recombination and their repair mechanism.
PO 3 Gain the knowledge about protein synthesis and protein regulations.
PO 4 To Study the concepts of Genetic code, Gene silencing and gene regulations.
